So one of the few things people know about South Dakota is that it is the home to Mt. Rushmore. Mt. Rushmore is beautiful! And we love to visit every time we come home. It has become a bit of a tradition to get our family photo with the famous faces. It is neat to see the fun changes!
Most definitely the COLDEST day we have ever visited the monument! The wind was so so cold!
Somehow that year we got us, but missed the faces.
But we got Caleb and the faces!
2013
Where has the time gone and look at that grown up boy now!
They still are amazing every time we see them.
Trying to have a fun lunch at Mt. Rushmore.
It is tough when your mom makes you actually eat your hamburger though.
Our Cute Poser!
He loves National Parks and Monuments! One of our favorite things to do is to ask about the Junior Ranger program. The Rangers have a booklet that the child needs to fill out during their visit in the park and after it is filled out they can become a Junior Ranger and earn a patch.
We had fun learning all sorts of fun facts as we filled out the booklet.
Caleb was so excited to be sworn in as a Junior Ranger and earn his Mt. Rushmore patch. He was officially sworn in. He had previously earned his Jewel Cave badge. We got him a Ranger hat to make it even more official!
Another great day at Mt. Rushmore!
