Time to Swim Again!

Caleb was born with gills and has always been our little fish.  This summer was devastating because the pools on base were closed and the city does not have a lot of swimming pool options. So we were not able to participate in our daily swims.  However we did learn that the indoor pool was still open and still available for swim lessons.

And so the swimming began again!
This time Caleb set the goal to learn the strokes so that he could join the swim team soon.

The videos below are just some examples of all the fun things he has been learning.

Toothless!!

I have learned as a parent that loosing teeth is an important Right of Passage.  I had forgotten how important this is, and it is especially important for a boy he wants to grow up way too fast.  Caleb has been devastated that he has not lost any teeth.  Making it through Kindergarten and First Grade without loosing a tooth was tough!

On our trip to Sea World, Caleb discovered his first loose tooth!  It was an exciting moment!  However, in spite of all our wiggling, the tooth was not coming out, but the adult tooth was coming in.  So we decided to ask the dentist what to do and it was suggested that we get it pulled out.
Quite the process to get this little tooth pulled out!  He was so brave though.
The dentist encouraged me to video tape the big event, so of course I did!
Finally Toothless!!  So excited!
But you can see that adult tooth sneaking in.
And the first visit from the Tooth Fairy!
Man the Tooth Fairy is much more generous now days!
The only problem we encountered is that the tooth next door was also wiggly and the dentist warned us that the tooth needed to be removed soon.  Another adult tooth was about to emerge.  Sadly the dentist wouldn't pull it for us.  So we tried and tried but it wouldn't come out.
Fortunately we have a dentist in our ward and he was kind enough to help us out.  Thank goodness!
This little guy still had a good root attached and it would have been tough to remove.
Two Toothless!!
Finally two teeth gone but the adult teeth sure have been creeping in fast!
Thank goodness Caleb lost 2 teeth before he turned 7!
It would have been socially unacceptable to turn 7 without losing any teeth.

San Antonio, Simpson Style

A trip to Sea World San Antonio would not be complete without a trip to downtown San Antonio.  The beautiful Riverwalk is most definitely worth a trip.  As soon as we entered San Antonio, we headed downtown for a yummy Mexican dinner and a river boat tour.
A great Mexican Restaurant always has a fun picture opportunity, right?!
Getting ready for the fun boat ride.

Busy boys always ready to go or to be involved.
Say Cheese!!

On our boat tour Caleb wanted to be in charge of taking pictures.  He did a good job and we did get a different array of pictures on our boat ride.
Silly boy with Grandpa!
Uncle Roy is always a great person to photograph!

And you can't end the tour without a fun selfy and a picture of mom and dad!
It was a fun night!

After our day in Sea World, we visited a few tourist shops and the Alamo.
Now that is a great hat to buy!
The Alamo does have some beautiful gardens.

Our whole trip was so much fun.
Caleb loved his cousin time and these two boys have a lot of fun together.
We are sad they live so far away!
Thank goodness Uncle Roy is so much fun and the boys enjoyed his attacks on the way home.
They were quite the troopers and we are lucky to have such great boys!

We love it when family comes to visit!
Thanks for coming to see us and for making it such an amazing trip.

Sea World on the 4th of July continued..

We most definitely made the most of our day in Sea World.  It began at 9 am when the gates opened and ended at 10 pm with the fireworks show.  Good thing we have such amazing kiddos to go all day with us and great family who just went with the flow and enjoyed the adventure!

Azul
Azul is probably the most beautiful show and my favorite.  There is so much going on between the dolphins, beluga whales, divers, synchronized swimmers, and acrobatics.  So much to capture and all done with beautiful music and fun choreagraphy.

Sea Lions Tonite
Sea lions are known for their playfulness so the sea lions get all the fun comedy shows.  Sea Lions Tonite features a fun look at all the adventures available at Sea World.
Riding the Steel Eel
Azul and Elmo Rocks!
Cool Vibrations and checking out the Penguins
And of course the Walrus gets to show off his killer whale moves!
Who knew a walrus could be so much fun!
I think these boys are still having fun!  Such troopers!
Sea World is pretty magical!

Shamu Rocks!
The last show of the night!
We had so much fun with Sierra, Roy, and Braydon!
We are so glad they came to hang out with us and experience Sea World!
It was the perfect day!
Shamu Rocking Away!
Love these boys to death!!
Still smiling after a long day!
And Caleb with his crazy eyes!
I think we only wore Grandpa out a little bit!
These are longer videos but it was fun to tape the show.  I couldn't take great pictures with the lighting so I took a video.  It's not the best but fun to see!
This video features Baby Shamu!  We have been able to watch this little whale all three years and it is fun to see how much she has grown.  Our first visit to Sea World she was so small and stayed right with her mother for a short appearance.  Now she has her only little show.
These two boys are showing off their Rocker skills!!

And our Sea World adventure comes to an end!
After the shows, the fireworks started.  Boy the park was packed!!  Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the fireworks.  Due to a lost mug and crazy crowds it was hard for Brydon and I to watch the fireworks.  I was sad though that they were only about 15 minutes long.  It was an ok fireworks show but I have decided that Texas does not know how to put on a great fireworks show!  For as packed as the park was, I was expecting a "Stadium of Fire" or "Disneyland" type show, not an ordinary show.  It took us 2 hours to get out of the Sea World parking lot so we may just skip the fireworks next time.
But it was an amazing 4th of July!!!
