Look Out First Grade, Here We Come!

Summer vacation officially ended this week and my sweet boy started 1st Grade.
I can't believe it!  Look how big he is now!
We are so grateful we were able to get approved to have Caleb attend the same school as last year.  We love his school and are so glad we get to be a part of that community again.  It has been a blessing to our family in many ways to be a part of this school.  Because of my substituting there, I was able to take free re-certification courses through the District.  That was a huge blessing!
We love the teachers and principal there.  Caleb's teacher is a super sweet first year teacher and Caleb loves her.  She is really great!
Caleb was so excited to start school!  He is such a great kid.
Sunday we were able to spend a great day together and Caleb received a sweet father's blessing to begin the new school year.  We are so excited for him and proud of him.
It is truly amazing how fast they grow!
Love this sweet boy and we are most definitely his biggest fans.
I am reminded everyday to cherish the moments I have with him and to enjoy every stage.

A Big 6 Year Old Now!

The minute Caleb decided he wanted to go to Sea World for his birthday, he decided that his cake should be a killer whale.  His themed cakes have become a fun tradition each year and he loves to plan what his new cake should be.  We have done a puppy, Thomas the Train, Scooby-Doo, and Mater.  This was most definitely the most difficult.  I wasn't able to find anything online for a template this year so I just baked some cake, set his stuffed animal in front of me, and made a whale.  I am pretty proud of myself for how it turned out.
Of course the most important part, is that Caleb loved it!  He is really the only critique that counts!

We were so excited to have our friends the Bradshaws celebrate with us.  We enjoyed a fun dinner with Caleb's favorite pumpkin pancakes.
Can't believe he is my big 6 year old now!  Silly boy!
Nothing like spending hours on a cake and then just cutting it all up.  Luckily it tasted pretty good and the Ross family was able to join us for the cake and ice cream.  Caleb picked out Blue Bell Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.  We have most definitely become Blue Bell fans!

When Caleb choose the Sea World behind the scenes over us giving him presents, he wasn't too worried about getting presents.  He informed us that he would get them from his grandmas.  Well that he did.  He scored well with the grandmas.  A giant killer whale to add to his collection, a tent, Sea World shirt, and fun toys.  He was thrilled!
He was thoroughly spoiled rotten loved a ton!
Pretty lucky boy to have both grandmas come celebrate with us.
Always lots of love when Grandmas come!
