Second Grade Begins

First Day of Second Grade!
Cooper was excited to help send him off to school and got lots of love on the way.
It was a first day in Second Grade!
Caleb loves his teacher Mrs. Ballis and is excited to start earning AR points and work on the math program RM!  (I'm sure glad someone is excited about that.)  He loves to write stories and can't wait to show off his writing abilities.  I can't believe how well he reads now and he reads with so much expression, it is so fun!  He still wants to be a veterinarian when he grows up and we are excited for what this year will bring!

Last Summer Hurrah!

I was sad to see the summer go and to send my favorite guy back to school.  Unfortunately I was a bit under the weather for the first part of the week but we were able to fit in a few fun activities before the summer vacation was officially over!
Donuts and Chocolate Milk for Breakfast!

A Fun Visit to the Zoo with Friends
Playing at the City Splashpad

Water Fight!
For a last summer hurrah, we decided to invite some friends over for a water fight.
Lesa knows how to get into a water fight!
The refill buckets turned out to be a fun way to cool off!
Waterslide time!
Bubbles!
Fun Day!
Thanks for celebrating the end of summer vacation with us!

Pretty in Pink---Run or DYE Abilene

Over the summer I was informed that my running days are over.  My knees just can't take the pounding anymore and so I decided to end my running days with the race I had always wanted to do.  I participated in a Run or Dye in Rapid City and my last race would be a Run or Dye in Abilene  At first many people were going to run this race with me, but in the end there were only 3 of us.  Of course they are amazing women and we did have a great cheering squad!

Our team was Pretty in Pink and we had fun with 80's hair, tutus, and coordinating tank tops.

Getting ready to start!
Check out our sexy cheering squad!
Waiting in the chute for our turn.

Blue Station
Blue station got me good!  I was blue for a couple days.

Orange Station

Yellow Station
Leave it to Lesa to be a little crazy!

Green Station
As you can see this was not a fast moving race.  It was actually difficult to walk fast during this event.  But since I wasn't supposed to all out run, it worked out for me.

Finish Line!
Nothing like getting more colored in the Dye Zone!
Ya!!!  Go Pretty in Pink!
These ladies were the best and I am so grateful they were willing to make my last race so fun.
Some Lovely Ladies
It took us a little bit but we finally found our husbands and kids.
And this what we found!  A blue baby and some colored kids!
They had a blast!
A Dye Family Photo
I have an amazing hubby and he was so great to support me and cut loose at this event.
A Super Cute Colored Boy!
Even the ground was colored!
My blue skin took a while to get back to normal.  Fortunately I mainly got yellow dye in my hair and it came out easily!
I am sad to retire the running shoes but it was great to go out with a bang!
