I was able to come watch the event and as a spectator could see most of the events.  I was the official videographer (we have a great 1 hour video of the entire event thanks to our friend's video editing).  The pictures are thanks to my spectator buddy who was the official photographer.  It was such a fun day!

Special Guests to Take to the Pumpkin Patch

When we learned that Brydon was going to be asked to serve as Bishop, his parents and sister with her 2 children were able to book last minute tickets to come out to support us during the event.  My mom was already visiting us because she had come out for Time Out of Women.  It was nice to have so much family support.  We were able to visit the local pumpkin patch and get some fun fall pictures.

Bike for Kids--10 Mile Bike Race

In August, Caleb saw a sign for a 10 mile bike race that kids were able to participate in.  He was THRILLED and begged us to let him ride in the race.  We didn't realize how serious he was until the race date got closer and he kept reminding us.  So I signed Daddy and Caleb up for the race!
It was a cold, windy day with a chance of rain but Caleb was determined to ride no matter what.  He bundled up and took off.  There was another boy maybe about 14 years old but they were the only kids in the race.
Off they go!
Being the crazed, involved mother that I am, I of course drove the route and waited to see them along the way.  I got to cheer them on and make sure my little guy was going to make it.
The wind was so horrible and I knew it was a tough ride.
There were some hills and 10 miles is a long way!
Two happy boys to see the Finish Line!
It took them 1 hour and 16 minutes but Caleb did it!
We were so proud of our determined boy and Caleb definitely has an amazing father who rode right beside him and told him he could make it!
Love those boys of mine!

Tidal Wave Swim Team

We have known for a few years that swim team was most likely in our future.  Caleb has never wavered from his love of water and his desire for swim lessons.  A few weeks ago, Caleb's swim teacher told us he didn't know what to do with him anymore and said he was ready for swim team  Our local YMCA has a community swim team that is included in a family membership and so we decided to try it out.  Caleb did great on his tryouts and is now a member of their beginning team Tidal Wave!  (I can't believe my son actually owns a Speedo now!)
We are now at the pool 4 days a week and Caleb could not be happier!  The coach and program is great!  I swear this child is somehow related to Percy Jackson because water does just make him think straight.  He is a good little swimmer and we are excited to record his progress and see how much he changes.  This is a world Brydon and I are trying hard to quickly learn about and are excited to see our first swim meet.

All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth

We feel like real parents now that we were able to finally pull one of Caleb's teeth out by ourselves!
Thankfully Brydon got to do the nasty deed!  It is really hard to get up the nerve to pull  these teeth out!  Caleb's teeth do not want to come out easily and we have to rush them a bit because the adult teeth are trying to come in so fast.
But Dad did it!  One front tooth gone!
These teeth are so much bigger than the bottom teeth!
Two Front Teeth Missing Now!
The next day Dad got the other tooth out (this time with snuggles, prayers, a blessing, a favorite TV show, and icecream after) and now he is 4 toothless with a sweet lisp!
Of course the adult teeth are quickly filling in but for a short time he has no front teeth.
I have to admit though, it is sad to see that cute smile change!  The new adult teeth coming in look big and ackward for a while and we are going to miss that cute little boy grin.
It isn't quite the same but still super, super cute!
