Muir Woods & Ferry Ride (San Fran part 3)

So we continue on with our day tour of San Francisco.  After we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and had lunch in Sausalito, we boarded a new bus and extended our tour to visit Muir Woods.  It is home to the coastal Redwoods and is where the Ewok scenes in Star Wars were filmed.
So it pretty much rocks!
The park is not huge but we spent a good 2 hours walking around by ourselves in the beautiful forest.  It was very damp and mossy and the trees are huge.  They not as huge as Yosemite but as you look at the pictures, they are pretty massive.
This shows that this tree was born in 909 AD and fell in 1930.
thousand year old tree!  So incredible!
It is an old mysterious forest.
Just a comparison of how huge they are.
Yep bonafide Tree Huggers!

Love the beautiful pictures.  It was a quiet damp forest and a lot of fun to explore.

Muir Beach Overlook
After leaving Muir Woods, we did a quick stop at the Muir Beach Overlook.  It is a gorgeous location but we only had a few minutes to grab some pictures.

Our lovely silhouettes in the bright sun.

Ferry Boat Ride
We returned to Sausalito just in time to catch a Ferry Boat back to San Francisco.  It was a short ride that took us right past Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Sausalito from the ferry.

A Pirate Ship
This reminded us a lot of the Pirate Ship we rode on our Honeymoon.  It was my first time in a boat in the ocean and it was a great evening out.  It would be fun to ride in one again.
One of my favorite moments on the ferry was when Caleb decided to FaceTime with us while we were on the boat.  It was so fun to show him where we were at.  I love FaceTime!

Docking at the Pier.
It was a great tour and we had an amazing day. It was so fun to see so much and learn so much about the city.
