A Book of Mormon Party

WE DID IT!!

We finished The Book of Mormon for the first time as a family. When Caleb was a baby, we began reading The Book of Mormon every night before he went to bed.  We read, say Family Prayers, and then it is off to bed.  We read one column pretty much every night.  Well it has obviously taken us a while but we are finally done.  Caleb has now heard the entire book by age 5.  Caleb was so excited that he decided we should have a Book of Mormon party!

This is the copy of The Book of Mormon that we drug all over.  It was given to Brydon when he was 8 years old.  It has now been well loved and we may need to start the next reading with a new copy.  Maybe someday we will get one of those beautiful hard bound family editions with pictures.  But we like these small handy ones for now.  I think we will need to read a little more each night now so it doesn't take us another 5 years :) 

Putting together the Book of Mormon party wasn't that easy.  Life was just busy and friends cancelled.   But we finally got some great friends to join us for dinner and cake.  I made this terrible looking cake! The frosting and I were not getting along at all (obviously)!  But Caleb was happy that I got it to look somewhat right in a short amount of time.  It still tasted good and we were excited to celebrate no matter what! 

We are so grateful for The Book of Mormon!  It is a book that has truly changed our lives and shaped our family.  In times of need, our family has found faith, hope, and peace as we have read and studied this book.  It is a light and guide to us as we work to be the best people and parents we can be.  We challenge anyone who hasn't read this book to Read It.  Pray About It.  It just may change your life like it has ours.
